The Illuminating Photoready Primer is 100% organic, which is a rare thing in a category built almost entirely on silicone. Most primers work by laying a synthetic film over the skin — smooth to the touch, and doing nothing for the face underneath. This one is enriched with Vitamin E and Jojoba and works with the skin instead.
As a makeup base it leaves a perfect finish. Foundation goes on evenly, sits where you put it, and photographs well rather than looking flat or patchy — which is where the photoready in the name comes from.
The second use is the more interesting one. Wear it on bare skin, with no makeup at all, and it gives a perfect sheen that makes your face look natural rather than made-up. If you are a no-makeup person, this is a way to look polished without wearing anything you would have to take off.
Vitamin E nourishes and protects; Jojoba is the plant oil closest to the skin's own sebum, which is why it balances oily and dry skin alike and never feels heavy. One to two pumps covers the face.
